  • Walking through the History and Geography of the Holy Land
Guest teachers: Dr. Julius and Florence Scott
Julius and Florence Scott will review the historical and biblical significance of the Holy Land’s geography. Assisted by maps and illustrations, this class will elucidate the circumstances and events surrounding many Biblical accounts, from Israel’s conflict with the Philistines, incursion by foreign armies into Judah, to Jesus’ travels in Capernaum. J. Julius Scott Jr., (Ph.D., University of Manchester) is emeritus professor of biblical and historical studies at Wheaton College Graduate School. Florence Scott holds a Masters degree in Bible and Theological Studies from Wheaton College, and coauthored Exploring Theological English (with Cheri Pierson).

The overall goal of this course is to help us understand what God is teaching us in each book of the Old Testament, especially as we clearly see the centrality of Jesus in the persons, events and symbols throughout Redemptive History. You will be instructed and greatly encouraged in your grasp of the Scriptures through this class.
